If you encounter a power failure or reboot, you must follow this same process every time. It seems that when a cable is connected to the WAN port, it activates a hidden parameter which prevents the forwarding of DHCP requests through to the WAN (i.e. Connect the cable from your router to the Airport Express WAN port.disconnect the WAN interface of the Airport Express before powering it on.It seems that now (perhaps with the new firmware), to use the Airport Express as an access point in bridged mode, you MUST Secure the disk with a disk password: Click the Secure Shared Disks pop-up menu, then choose With a disk password. Step 3: Tap on Edit, then the AirPlay option. Select Enable file sharing to let users share files on the disk, and Share disks over WAN if you want to provide remote access to the disk over the WAN port. Step 2: Open the application and click on your AirPort Express. ![]() We also followed all apple instructions (read the manual, etc). Step 1: Download the AirPort Utility app from the App Store. We also tried several reboots, factory reset, etc.
